Who We Are

We are a nonprofit organization that helps communities develop the lifestyle needed to empower vulnerable displaced families. Our long-term, comprehensive interventions in the areas of health, livelihood, education, and NFI& agrobusiness.

Our Vision

Peoples Needs wants to use our combined efforts to help disadvantaged individuals all over Iraq. Our initiatives are designed to develop opportunities for displaced families. Through education, livelihood projects aimed at improving the community we work with, development programs, and skill development, we envisage better futures for these communities.

Our Mission

Building a future where disadvantaged people may access free, high-quality education, excellent health care, housing, and less hunger.

Where We Work

Our headquarters are based in Baghdad, with other offices located in Erbil. We plan to expand our working areas in other cities around Iraq.

Team Management

Murawij Al-Khair has a leadership team which is a blend of professionals from the private and development sector. They bring a wide range of experience to bear upon development challenges and create innovative solutions for long term sustainable impact on the ground.

About the Founder

Kawa Sami

Visionary Leader & Humanitarian

Kawa, a citizen of Iraq, is the current Country Representative for PWJ-Iraq Mission. Since 1992, he has had an extensive background in the humanitarian sector starting with UN agencies ranging from WFP, UNIRCU, and UNOCHI. He joined PWJ in 2002 and has become a valuable asset for both the international and local humanitarian sector for coordination across emergency needs for IDPs, refugees, and other people in need. Kawa has trained in the emergency assistance sectors in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and as well as the United States. Kawa attended many events to raise the fund for PWJ in Japan, USA, Spain, Jordan and Turkey. Kawa represented PWJ in responding to emergency programs in Lebanon after July War 2006 and Turkey (after WAN Earthquake 2011.
